Cold (2014)

In Kars, a city in eastern Turkey, three Russian sisters work at a tavern. Two local brothers visit the place: the older one, a married railway worker who controls the trains, and the younger, a hot-tempered troublemaker who weds a local girl yet keeps up his wild nights. The older brother falls for Irina, the youngest sister, and this love upends all their lives. Exploring the struggles of uneducated Turkish men and the harsh existence of prostitutes, the film draws its title from Kars's biting chill—"Soguk," meaning "cold" in Turkish.
